There's
More About Fe de los Reyes,
Joey Albert and Bernardo Bernardo
FE DE
LOS REYES
Comedy is serious business. And independence - a whole lot more. Just ask Fe
de los Reyes. Eschewing the easy target of entertaining by just reminiscing,
Fe gives a portrayal of what it means to really live the American Dream.
Her skits usually show the obstacles that get in the way of people used to
drivers, maids and yayas all their lives but have the fierce desire to be independent
of such benefits and merge into American society in a proud and decent fashion.
She has lived in America for at least ten years. And yet she still appreciates ‘itlog
na pula with tinapa and longganisa (siyempre with sukang maanghang)’.
But Fe has been independent from so much in so little time.
After leaving Music and Magic, the show band she shared with pop diva Kuh Ledesma,
Fe has achieved success both as a comedienne and as an actress (she was in
the US production “The Debut”).
MS.
JOEY ALBERT
Joey Albert has been away from the Philippines for years now. But she is not
far from the hearts of her fellow Filipinos. Just ask any 30 to 40 year old
Fil-Am.
They’ll all tell you that they still remember her and her songs.
Ms. Albert was one of the biggest pop stars in Philippine music history. With
such hits as “Tell Me”, “Million Miles Away” and “Yakapin
Mo Ako”, Joey was both a critical and commercial hit.
BERNARDO
BERNARDO
Bernardo Bernardo has done almost everything conceivable in the field of entertainment.
Acting, singing, hosting, writing, directing - you name it and he’s probably
done it. And as in any of his endeavors, he always did it with ‘gusto’.
No ‘in-between’ for this seasoned performer.
He has been real busy this past year. His shows have taken him from New York
to California and every town in between. Acting as host, singer and stand-up
comedian, Bernie has been kicking up his heels as one tough act to follow.
But he’s far from being done.
After years of showbiz success in the Philippines, Bernardo Bernardo brings
his craft to a higher level. At the height of his popularity, Bernie (as he
is called by friends) moved to America to bring his own brand of entertainment
to his fellow Filipinos here.
The past year alone has seen him touring all the major cities where Filipino
communities abound.
